From the moment they hauled a kick drum on to the open mic stage at Didmarton it was clear Texas Tick Fever were unlikely to tread a conventional path. Having survived that experience and with the good wishes of those gathered, they have set out to craft an energetic and ocasionally irreverent act, fusing traditional songs with contemporary numbers and always presented in their own style. Not strictly bluegrass, although often rooted in that genre, the duo are always exploring ways to present a compelling, entertaining show. They call it hillbilly with a kick.
